Also includes two 1958 letters to/from NZ Post Office/Harrisons & Goaman re suggested stamp designs. Goaman’s design was used for the 1960 & 1967 lowest denomination definitive stamps.

1967 2½c Kowhai an outstanding error: a vertical strip of 5: 1st stamp horizontal deep blue doctor blade flaw, 2nd approx. 85% deep blue colour omitted, 3rd complete deep blue colour omitted, 4th 50% deep blue colour omitted and smearing of deep blue colour, 5th some deep blue colour smears. A couple of oily patches not visible from front on 1st & 5th stamps, m/muh, with normal for comparison. 3rd stamp is muh = CP OD4a(Y) & alone is cat $5,000. Vendor's comment only 10 strips known - an extreme example of a reel printing error.
