GERMANY WWII SS Officers Honour Blade, wartime production, Degen type. These blades were internal productions, without makers mark. High carbon steel blade of 31", Ebony grip featuring 13 wires, with aluminium SS button mounted after 5th wire, standard type brown leather washer, silvered nickel "D" guard with teardrop quillon end, pommel nut screws directly into blade tang. Two clear & identical SS markings, one on guard under leather washer a second on the scabbards top face. Scabbard upper mount retained by dome head screws (missing 1), lower mount is compression fit, both fittings magnetic, hanger loop present, missing knot. Scabbard & blade heavily oxidised with much original scabbard paint flaked off. As typical, the wooden grips around the SS button have light chips & nicks, handle shows signs of wear, blade will clean well. Rare item & overall fine condition.

NZ Pattern 1821 Wilkinson Sword Co. Artillery Officers sword, 1930, clean example of NZ Royal Artillery Officers Sword with brown leather scabbard, troddel knots & belt frog, with open 3 bar guard, Rayskin handle, proof & quality test stamps on ricasso & spine. Highly detailed etching along length of blade, with NZ Artillery Regiment icons & George V royal cypher, accepted into the army inventory 1930. Minor surface tarnish. gEF
