Frank worked as a labourer prior to enlisting. He enlisted in the 18th Bn on 18 July 1940, embarked overseas on 19 Dec 1940 & was killed in action on 25 May 1941. He is buried in the Suda Bay War Cemetery, Crete. He also received the 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, War Medal & NZ War service medals; with service records & case. EF

He enlisted with the 23rd Bn on 14 April 1942, embarked overseas on 14 May 1943, was killed in action on 15 Feb 1944 & commemorated at the Cassino War Cemetery, Italy; with service records & case. EF

When war broke out, he was a medical student in Edinburgh & enlisted with the Royal Army Medical Corps. He listed prior service with the RAMC. Having received Field Punishment No 1 for drunkenness in 1915, his character on discharge was described as "bad". With WWI service papers. EF

He was a labourer in New South Wales when he enlisted with 3rd Bn of the Australian Imperial Force on 21 Dec 1914. He arrived at Gallipoli on 31 May 1915, & on 8 Aug 1915 received a “dangerous” gunshot wound to the shoulder & chest at Lone Pine. He was hospitalised in London & medically discharged back to Australia on 12 April 1916, returning to NZ in 1927, dying there in 1951; swing mounted. gVF

He was known for his realistic representation of glamorous ladies in music hall performances but also for other forms of entertainment & has an extensive footprint in British entertainment records. Cammack, born 1918 in Lincolnshire, was an agricultural labourer, a reserved occupation, & so not called up until 1942. He served in the Desert (in time for the Battle of El Alamein), Italy & 1945 Greek campaigns. This included fighting at Cassino in 1944 where he fought alongside the Kiwis & where his unit was badly damaged with USAF bombers that went astray. He died in 1990.
