1936 (27 April) ANZAC printed FDCs, colln of 10 diff, identified by Jones 2004 cat Nos. Noted canc Lower Hutt cds, each stamp signed "S. Catchpole 1936 R.N.Z.A." (Brigadier Catchpole, who was the model for the stamp design); rare C36.1c (rated 7/7); unlisted foolscap size as 1B; ditto as 1A but with cutout cachet & blocks of 4, regd; & unlisted textual design. Also C36.1AB (stained, not FD cancel). Generally fine. Ex Horrell.

1949 3d Royal Visit HMS Vanguard - prepared for use but unissued due to King's deteriorating health that resulted in the cancellation of the 1949 Royal Tour, MUH. Some creasing from being crumpled - as all 7 known examples have such/similar damage from being "rescued" from destruction. Nonetheless, this is a very rare stamp & is the original discovery made by Grattan. RPSNZ cert (2021).
