1946-7 ½d-5/- "B.C.O.F. JAPAN 1946" ovpts, set of 7 FU on regd O.A.S. cover addressed to NZ soldier in NZ (but no receipt b/s), Unusually canc "R.N.Z.A.F. 333 N.Z.A.P.O." cds 11 FEB 48 (2 strikes). NZ regn label with "NZAPO 333" h/s. At this time, NZ APO 333 was at Bofu airfield, having moved from Iwakuni 2 days previously (both locations near Hiroshima). RAAF APO 30 was also at Iwakuni. So this cover may have been cancelled by favour & handed back over the counter. Exceptional (philatelic) use of NZ forces cancel on Australian stamps. Fine. SG J1-7. Cat $275 (for the stamps alone).
