Middle Rangitikei/Rangitikei (PM 1861-72, to Bulls) Perkins Bacon supplied 1855 series barred obliterator "13". Use at Rangitikei (c1864 on) postulated by KJ McNaught (1988). Very fine complete strike (c1864-65?) on 2d blue FFQ SG 39 (plate 1, worn state, star wmk, imperf), 3½ margins. Appears very early use (sharp clear impression). Very few definite examples are known (& none at all on cover, which would normally enable attribution). Rare.

Noted: "1" x 2, "2" (1), "3" (4), "5" (7), "7" (4), "8" (10), "9" (8), "11" (5), "12" (2), "13" (1), "14" (3), "15" (9), "16" (4), "17" (8), "18" (11). Strikes mostly full & clear, with places of use identified. The rare "13" (believed used at Rangitikei) is on 4d yellow SG 120 (issued 1866).
