1935-42 extensive mostly mint/MUH specialised colln, superbly written up c1950 by RJG Collins (designer of the 1d, noted philatelic authority & lifelong friend of the former owner Fred Musgrove of Christchurch). On interleaved linen-hinged pages in fine F Godden looseleaf album. Logically laid out be denomination ½d to 3/- & issue date of each sub-type. Many diff shades, plate blocks ( some selvedge plate singles), plate flaws in blocks or singles (illustrated by fine ink drawings), invtd wmks, perf & paper varieties, booklet panes etc. Most mint blocks of 4 incl 2 MUH stamps. Many scarce or rare items (no doubt directly from Collins' stock). The 1935-36 1st wmk issues incl ½d clematis flaw FU, 1d p13½ x 14 CP L2b selvedge block of 4 with 2 stamps part 'ZE' letters wmk; 3d L6a block of 9 incl 7 MUH; 5d L8a, L8b mint/MUH blocks of 4; 9d L11a block of 9 MUH. With the 1st issues are a set of 16 superb (enlarged) real photo repros of original artists' drawings to 3/- (incl the 1d by Collins & unused 1/-, 1/3d designs). Multiple wmk issues incl 2d L4b block with R2/3 "tekoteko" flaw; 4d L7c (p14) plate 3 block of 4, cat $2500 (left selvedge mint, stamps MUH); 4d L7d selvedge pair with "shift" markings: 5d plate 2 blocks of 4 mint/MUH; 9d L11c block of 4 MUH & single invtd wmk mint; 9d L11d block of 4 incl 3 MUH; 3/- L14e plate 1 block of 4 mint/MUH. 1935 ½d Fantail, clematis flaw (R8/1), single wmk paper. RPSNZ cert (2022). Although the clematis flaw is common on the multiple wmk paper, it is very scarce on the single wmk paper, this is a recent discovery. CP L1au. Cat $1750. VFU.
