Minor flaws indicate this stamp is from R2/5 from the lower right pane with a mint upper right sheet corner block of 9. Not listed CP & possibly the only one existing. A most unusual origin (modern day Mozambique) underpaid cover. $450.00

This is an example of how an enclosed p/c, was treated as an attempt to avoid additional postage charges. $600.00

827 C 1899 2d pair on mourning cover ex Melbourne 27 AUG 1903 to Dunedin, NZ. Invalid 2d NSW uncancelled, oval T4D. mark & Dunedin 2 SEP 1903 cancel. Use of any Australian State stamps in any Australian State only became legal from 13 October 1910; hence ½ oz letter charged 2d postage deficient + 2d fine. $150.00

Base letter rate of 25 gold centimes (10c) only was paid, thus 25 gold centimes underpaid + 25 gold centimes fine = 5d. $450.00

Rear bears Hokitika 20 JAN 1932 transit cancel, pair 3d (1st series) + 2d (2nd series) postage dues canc Greymouth 21 JAN 1932. This is 1 of only 106 such covers flown Wellington-Hokitika (NZ Airmail cat #70c) & probably the only one compulsorily reg'd! $375.00

835 C 1899 4d pair + 2d on overweight, unpaid commercial cover ex 5 DEC 1900 Curaçao, Netherlands West Indies to Dunedin, NZ., bearing black T (Taxe) mark boxed by blue crayon, TO PAY / DOUBLE DEFICIENCY h/s & 10d inserted in m/s, 26 JAN 1901 Dunedin "F" class cancels postage dues. On rear are transit cancels of New York & San Francisco. Vendor states: the cover is the highest known taxed letter to NZ prior to WWI & 1 of a few taxed at the 10d rate. $750.00
