1946 3d Peace Air Force imprint block of 24 (8 x 3) from base of sheet, with ultramarine (aircraft) completely omitted (SG 671b) from the lower right unit (R3/8) & partially omitted (R2/8, R3/7). The omission is caused by a pre-printing paper fold at lower right with a partial print of the planes on the reverse in the selvedge. Some perf separation/reinforcing that doesn't impact the variety units that remain unmounted. Only 1 example known, and one of the most impressive & important missing colours of the post WWII era. 1952 1½d Royal Visit unadopted essay (244 x 149mm) in pencil on paper (folded) featuring HM King George VI, J Busby, W Hobson & Treaty House, Waitangi, with descriptive commentary at foot & two colour suggestions (dark brown & orange), for stamp, signed by James Berry. Both 1½d values added over original design’s 5d values. Some edge toning etc. The tour to Australia & New Zealand was cancelled owing to the King’s poor health.
